We set off this morning before 6 am,in order to try and miss some traffic,I think everyone else in Puglia had the same idea! Anyhow we reached La Pineta and there he was, just waiting. We had a lovely greeting from him,but still couldn't touch him. Mino had brought him some of his delicious homemade meatballs,he would never be able to resist them!

Lapineta [1600x1200]

minomotorway [1600x1200]We gave him a couple of knock out drops in them, and had to wait for them to take effect. It took ages, well over an hour, and where did he finally lie down, right under a huge bush,on the edge of the motorway.Mino had to walk out on to the motorway,to try and encourage him back towards me. It was so scary, the pup could have fallen over the edge at any time.

He fought it all the way and did not want to give in to sleep, but eventually he had to.We were both scrambling about under this bush, which was full of mosquitoes, but Mino finally got him and carried him to the car. I sat in the back with him,and he slept all the way home.Dear little boy,if only he understood it was for his own sake we were doing this to him,he will now have a lovely home with lots and lots of love .Thank you Julie for giving this boy a chance. I know he will make you a wonderful pet.And shame on the person who left him there in the first place,I hope you get what you deserve!

What a very caring English Lady that was to contact you. She needs a medal for taking the time and if she needs a medal what do you and Mino need. I know, a donation. As soon as my husband is back to work I will make a donation as promised in the past. You are very caring people you and Mino. Thanks for sharing this story i will keep watching for updates on the pup. I do voluntary work for an animal rescue, working in the shop of second hand goods to raise money, it is a registered charity and very large and I have a good idea how much it takes to look after the animals. I admire you both for the work that you do and wish i could be a help to you. Kind regards and Ciao continuano il buon lavoro, Lynda Fold
