Our Beautiful Micia

Miccia_1600x1200Our beautiful little one year old kitten Micia has been killed by a dog. Micia was the sweetest little cat there ever was. She and her brother Tiggy, you might remember,we  hand reared last year, from a couple of weeks old.We love all our cats very much and have always said if any of the dogs we take in do not respect them ,we won't keep them. Minnie was attacked last year and nearly lost her life,it was nothing short of a miracle that she survived, the dog that atacked her,Sony, was taken back to where he came from.

This time it was Floyd, the last arrival,a big powerful dog,we had our suspicions that he would go for them, but he was very clever, practically ignoring them ,if we were around.I am so angry, why did we take him? My poor little girl.

We are heartbroken, such a waste of a short little life. Why do we seem to keep getting such rotten luck? What have we ever done to deserve this?

We had already brought Ellen home, one of the Dalmy Twins,as Alice, had disappeared, and Ellen was not coping well without her.But I can confidently say, that is finally it,when it comes to the lives of my precious cats,no more dogs!I know some of you will say that you have heard that before! But this time,I just have to imagine my dear little Micia! One more whole in our hearts.....

my heart goes out to you, we love our cats, too. We lost my beautiful precious Poppy in the spring with throat cancer, and my heart is still breaking from the pain of it. I won't say time will heal, because it doesn't. I just say, happily, all dogs aren't the same. Remember Titti and Dulcie, my favourites, who would never have a hair of a cat's head. You wouldn't have been without them, would you? I also often think why do we get such bad luck, and it must be because we care. To people who don't care, it would mean nothing, to us it's a tragedy. All my love from Joy

I am so sorry to hear about Micia, she looked such a pretty little cat. I don't think any of this has anything to do with luck, its circumstances. None of these dogs have had the chance in life to be properly brought up and the bigger the dog the bigger the risk. I do know how you feel though, a couple of my ferrets killed one of my rabbits. It was through my negligence, I forgot one of the gates and they got into the rabbit run. I was so angry at the ferrets though. I took care of them but more or less ignored them for days, no cuddles nothing even though I knew it wasn't their fault, it was hard to forgive them. Things got back to normal eventually but its very difficult for a time. Poor little Micia didn't deserve this but Floyd didn't deserve his fate either, none of the animals you care for do. Of course you can't keep him, you have the other cats to think of and maybe even the small dogs....XXXXXXXXXXX
