NerinaDSCN1313_1600x1200Our first casualty of the New Year is Nerina. The dear little soul has suffered with her teeth before and had to have some out, this time she has been in great pain, and ended up having two molars and one canine tooth out. She is quite an old girl,we of course don't know how old,as she was abandoned. But we have had her almost four years, and she was quite old when we found her,so we imagine she is well into double figures.

Please click on the read more button.

This is a photo of her when we brought her home last night. We had to keep her really warm,as the vet said she was at risk if she became cold. She has slept all night and most of today, and everything is working normally and she is eating(soft food of course) and drinking,so I think she will be fine now.Bless her dear little heart,we hardly know we have her,she has never been any trouble at all, what ever she was abandoned for,God only knows!

We took Tuppence along as well,as her nails had got so long again. She is really difficult and it takes at least three of us to hold her, little monkey! For such a tiny dog she struggles like mad.The poor vet,as soon as he sees her says "oh Mamma Mia" !!  But we love her dearly, our little girl X

Gyp is a dog we have had for almost three years. He was born stray, and was bought to us to look after whilst he was found a home. Of course this never happened and he is still here. Gyp is still a very nervus dog,and difficult to handle. He attached himself to Charlie some time back, and remains his shadow.Wherever Charlie goes,Gyp is besides him.If Charlie comes in the house,Gyp comes in and so on.

abstDSCN1292_1600x1200Little Abbie has grown so much. She is a delightful little girl, she loves all the other dogs,in particuar Dottie and Poppy. They play and play. She is of course naughty as well, she likes nothing better than stealing our shoes. She is still looking for that forever home.

Please don't forget we are always looking for sponsors, whatever the amount,it helps the animals so much. And if you would like to adopt a dog,it has been made so much easier this year, now three weeks after their rabies blood test, they are ready to travel to the UK.

Thank you for those of you that give us your continued support. It so very much appreciated.

Until the next time,Val X

Thanks for the update Nerina looks so gentle hope she recovers quickly .it is amazing the strength animals can find when they don't want something and so many don't like nail clipping! With all your love and patience so many animals get a second chance in a loving environment and let's hope for a year of many many forever homes xx

When I read Nerina I held my breath...thank goodness she is OK...and my little Tuppence. What is it about nail clipping...Ruby is the same and she's never been hurt. Abbie looks gorgeous... but then they all do.....XXXXXXXX
