When we launched our website on 26th January 2008 we were overwhelmed by the response. Our visitors have given us increased confidence to continue with our efforts to take care of the stray and abandoned dogs and cats in our area of Puglia, and to one day achieve our dream of building an animal shelter. Your support has come in the form of good wishes, donations and sponsorships for the homeless.
We would like to thank each and every one of you for your support, please continue to tell your friends about us. Maybe one day we will see you in Puglia! |

Sparky returned from his biopsy last night a little sleepy but other wise OK. This is him this morning. We shan't know the results from that until the end of the month. If indeed it is bone cancer, that the vets strongly suspect, it means amputation of his back leg. Our poor little boy, we just cannot get our heads around this news. Sparky has always been an active little dog until all this started. But hopefully they will soon be able to sort him out. Bless you sweetheart, my heart goes out to you. X

Sparky has to go back to vet this afternoon. Mino took him a couple of days ago to have his ankle checked. We are both shocked, stunned and absolutley devasted. The vet has told us its most probably, that he has bone cancer....
I cannot begin to tell you what we feel. Sparky was our second rescue dog,and has always been Mino's soul mate.
This afternoon he is having a biopsy. We are hoping against hope that he does not find anything sinister.
I will of course let you know what happens.

Our poor little Sparky has a broken ankle, all this time we (vets included) thought it was his knee. He has had two previous operations on his knee, this is the reason we all thought the same. But it turns out our boy has broken his ankle. He is now in plaster, and it has to be on for six weeks. It will then be reviewed to see if he needs a operation. Its hoped it will knit together and mend, but I think it is most likely he will have to have pins and a plate, like Tupppence.

Hello Everyone. I expect most of you will remember Marina and Barsy, the two pups that went to London at the end of last summmer,to their new loving family and their forever home. I have some awfully sad news about Marina . I recieved an email from Julia.I went cold as I read the first line."I am afraid I have some terrible news. Last night our darling Marina died. We have no idea what happened and are utterly bereft, as is poor Barsy." Julia and her family are so upset, they adored these two dogs. They have no idea why she died, they did not want the trauma of a post mortem, and who can blame them. Their vet thought she might have been poisoned,or maybe it was her heart.
