Firstly let me tell you Pooch is much better. Thank you for all your good wishes and healing thoughts you sent him, they did the trick. He is pretty much back to how he was before.Apart from he now has an abcess on his foot.We think its a grass seed. They are particularly nasty here.He got exactly the same last year, poor Poo,its just one thing after another. We are now waiting for it to burst, then the vet must find the grass seed, lets hope its not too far in!
Pino has had his stitches out,he was a very good boy, never murmered. The vet was very pleased with his wound and thought it was healing nicely. Now was the time to start the procedure for the pet passport, for Pino to go back to the UK with Julie in six months.

ragspinoplaying100_3764_1600x1200The first thing was a microchip,he must have that before anything. So ,duly microchipped,we proceeded to the next step the Rabies vaccination. He took it all in his stride. He just lay on the vets table, quite relaxed. Now we have to wait a month, then he will have blood taken and it has to be sent to Venice for testing. When that comes back clear,as it will, the countdown begins! He is becoming a lovely dog,and I am sure Julie won't be sorry.

PinoRagsAs you can see,he and Rags are constant playmates. There are not many minutes in the day when they are not together. Its like they have been together all their young lives.Playing and playing.

Thanks for the update Val.
Jeanne was telling us on Brickies about the hoops she had to jump through when she brought Jenny back from Portugal to the UK. I never realised just what was involved. xxxx

It is a little better here than in Portugal,as here the blood can be tested in Venice,in Portugal it has to go to England,as I suppose they don't trust the Portuguese, how insulting is that. And of course it will cost more!!I know because I had three done for the UK when I lived there.

Val, that would be like a dream come true. Julie seems such a nice and caring lady to go out on a limb like this for the gorgeous Pino that it would be wonderful if she would consider Rags as well. With poor little Rags losing his best friend Tinker such a short time ago, to lose his new best friend Pino would be heartbreaking for him. Fingers and paws are crossed here that a miracle can happen and they can spend the rest of their lives together getting up to all kinds of mischief!! xxxxxxxx

Val. Can you not keep telling Julie just how much Rags and Pino love each other and how much they play together. Tell her they are inseparable (it's true!). Maybe she'll have Rags microchipped etc and bring him back to England with her.......go on, I dare you! xxxxx

Oh Debbie, wouldn't that be wonderful. They will miss each other thats for sure, talk about brothers in arms!

Awwww poor Pooch but at least he has recovered and the abscess although unpleasant will heal. Glad Pino is OK, didn't realise he was coming over hear, thought his owner was going back to Italy. Could you smuggle Rags over too...hehe, he is gorgeous. Having probs this end now. Ruby was spayed, had her stitches out this morning and in less than 2 hours the scar started to tear open. Common with her breed. Hopefully we have caught it soon enough not to have to strip the edges and re-sew. Vet is hoping it will scab as there is no hole...yet. She is now crated 24/7 till at least Monday...Dogs...who'd 'ave 'em...hehe...XXXXXXX

Hi Angela,Pino's new owner is coming back to Italy, she has a holiday home here, but she is eventually taking him back to the UK with the family. He will be so happy, but he will miss Rags!!I wish I could smuggle him over.
Sorry to hear about Ruby,I do hope she gets on OK x
